PDO “Queso Manchego”

The area covered by the PDO “Queso Manchego” comprises 44,000 km2, which includes local authority areas from the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and Toledo, within the territory of the region of Castilla-La Mancha. The number of localities included is 399.

Only Manchego cheese producers and Manchega sheep farms can be set up in this area. Outside, it is not allowed to produce Manchego cheese or milk intended for processing into the protected product.
